Dharmanagar, Feb 10: The Tripura Pradesh Congress Committee on Monday organised a preparatory meeting and joining programme in Dharmanagar as part of the nationwide MNREGA Save Movement, aiming to ensure mass participation in the Raj Bhavan march scheduled in Agartala on February 17.

The meeting, held at the District Congress Bhavan, was chaired by State Congress President Ashish Kumar Saha, who stressed the importance of strengthening the party’s organisational base ahead of upcoming political challenges.

Party leaders discussed strategies for the Agartala programme and deliberated on future political activities. Addressing the media, Saha said that defeating the BJP in the forthcoming by-election to the 56-Dharmanagar Assembly constituency remains the Congress’s key objective.

The meeting was attended by Pradesh Congress Committee leaders, including Chayan Bhattacharjee, Indrajit Pal, Kabel Nandi, and Digvijay Chakraborty, along with district and block-level functionaries.

During the programme, two advocates from Dharmanagar and a former panchayat member from Yubarajnagar formally joined the Congress.
