The Tripura government has officially notified the schedule for the upcoming elections to the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC), with polling to be held on April 12, 2026 (Sunday).
The polling date was advanced to April 12 following a resolution passed in the Tripura Legislative Assembly, after which the final schedule was published in the Tripura Gazette.
As per the notification, voting will be conducted from 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM across all constituencies. In case of any contingency, re-poll or fresh poll has been scheduled for April 16.
The election process will begin with the issuance of public notice by Returning Officers on March 18, while the last date for filing nominations is March 25. Scrutiny will be carried out on March 26, and the final date for withdrawal of candidature is March 28.
The counting of votes will take place on April 17 from 8:00 AM onwards, and the entire election process is expected to be completed by April 18, according to the official notification.
The announcement comes amid ongoing discussions in certain quarters regarding the timing of the polling date.
