Applications are open for the post of Assistant Manager (Grade ‘A’) in the Rural Development Banking Service (RDBS), Legal and Protocol & Security Service at the National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD). The online application window is from 08 November 2025 to 30 November 2025. Candidates must apply only through NABARD’s website; no other mode will be accepted.
The advertisement announces a total of 91 vacancies across disciplines: 85 posts in RDBS (general + specialised streams), 2 in Legal, and 4 in Protocol & Security Service. Of the RDBS vacancies, 7 are reserved for persons with benchmark disabilities (PWBD). The notification clarifies that NABARD may increase or decrease vacancies or cancel the recruitment process as required.
Important timeline highlights: Phase I (Preliminary online exam) is scheduled for 20 December 2025, and Phase II (Mains — for RDBS/Legal) for 25 January 2026. Dates for the mandatory Psychometric Test (Phase III) will be announced later on the NABARD website. Candidates should keep checking the official career page for any changes.
Eligibility is strict. For the RDBS (General) stream the basic requirement is a bachelor’s degree with a high aggregate (typically 60% for general candidates; reduced relaxations for SC/ST/PWBD in some cases) or equivalent postgraduate / professional qualifications as specified. Legal candidates must have an eligible law degree (LLB with specified marks or LLM). Protocol & Security posts require substantial commissioned military experience (minimum years of service specified). All educational and membership qualifications must be obtained on or before 01 November 2025 — late results will render applicants ineligible.
Age limits and relaxations: for general RDBS/Legal posts candidates must be between 21 and 30 years as on 01 November 2025, with relaxations for OBC, SC/ST, ex-servicemen and PWBD as per government rules. For Protocol & Security the age band is different (25–40 years) and there is no age relaxation.
Selection is multi-stage: Phase I (objective preliminary exam), Phase II (mains — descriptive + objective papers depending on discipline), a mandatory Psychometric Test, and interview. Phase I’s prelim structure emphasises a qualifying section (reasoning, English, computer knowledge, quantitative aptitude, decision making) and a merit section (general awareness, economic & social issues, agriculture & rural development) — shortlisting to mains is based on performance in the merit section. Negative marking (¼ mark) applies for wrong answers in objective tests.
Application fee: general and OBC candidates pay ₹850 (including intimation charge), while SC/ST/PWBD candidates pay only intimation charges (₹150). PWBD applicants may get age relaxation and fee concessions as specified in the notice.
Pay & perks: the starting basic pay for selected officers is ₹44,500 per month (in the Grade A pay scale) — initial gross emoluments are approximately ₹1,00,000 per month including allowances. The appointment will be on probation (generally two years) and selected candidates are liable to be posted anywhere in India.
How to apply & documents: apply online at NABARD’s careers page within the application window. Applicants must upload a passport-size photo, signature, left thumb impression, and a handwritten declaration (text specified in the advertisement). DigiLocker integration is available for voluntary document access. Biometric capture will be done from the Main Examination stage onwards. Candidates requiring scribe/compensatory time must indicate this in the online form and submit supporting certificates where applicable.
Support & training: NABARD provides free pre-recruitment training (online) for SC/ST/OBC/PWBD candidates who opt for it in the application form. Any difficulties while applying or downloading call letters should be raised through the Candidate Grievance Lodging and Redressal portal referenced in the advertisement.
Key advice: read the full official information booklet before applying — the notice contains detailed discipline-wise eligibility, reservation, exam syllabus and procedural rules (including strict rules on misrepresentation, biometric verification and disqualification). Missing or incorrect information can lead to cancellation at any stage; NABARD will not entertain personal correspondence on selection matters.
Apply only if you meet the eligibility criteria and have the required certificates ready (especially if claiming reservation/relaxation). For the full advertisement, discipline-wise details and to apply online, visit NABARD’s careers page.
