Wining team of Mid-day meal workers cooking contest receiving award from the authorities.

Agartala: Jan 10. A district-level cooking competition for school midday meal workers was held in Dhalai district on Friday, aiming to promote quality and nutrition in school meals. The event was organised by the Dhalai District Education Department at Kulai Colony Higher Secondary School, Ambassa.

The competition was inaugurated with a symbolic watering of saplings by Ambassa Municipal Council Chairperson Pratima Malakar. Dhalai District Education Officer Madhusudan Debbarma, municipal councillors Uttam Adhikari and Suman Debnath, school teacher Ratan Saha, and other officials were present.

A total of 17 midday meal workers from 17 schools across the district participated in the contest. Based on the judges’ decision, Chandramohan Para English Medium School secured first place, Halahali Class XII School came second, and Maynama JB School finished third. The top three winners will represent Dhalai district at the state-level cooking competition.

Certificates and prizes were distributed among all participants, including the winners, by the guests present at the programme.

Speaking to the media, District Education Officer Madhusudan Debbarma said the competition progressed from block-level to subdivision-level before reaching the district stage. He expressed confidence that the selected participants would uphold high cooking standards and bring recognition to Dhalai district at the state-level event.
