The Quad Foreign Ministers’ Meeting was held in New Delhi on Tuesday, bringing together the foreign ministers of India, the United States, Australia, and Japan to discuss major regional and global issues.
India’s External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar hosted the meeting, attended by US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Australian Foreign Minister Penny Wong, and Japanese Foreign Minister Takeshi Iwaya.
During the meeting, the leaders discussed strengthening cooperation in maritime security, critical minerals, infrastructure, technology, energy security, and supply chain resilience. The ministers also reaffirmed their commitment to maintaining a free, open, and inclusive Indo-Pacific region.
The Quad nations announced several new initiatives, including cooperation on maritime domain awareness, port infrastructure projects in the Indo-Pacific, and frameworks related to critical minerals and clean energy supply chains.
The discussions come at a time of growing geopolitical tensions and concerns over global trade routes, energy security, and regional stability in the Indo-Pacific region.
The Quad grouping, consisting of India, the United States, Australia, and Japan, continues to expand its role in regional cooperation, strategic dialogue, and economic partnerships.
