Agartala: Feb 24. Claiming that there is no comparison between Tipra Motha and the BJP in the upcoming TTAADC elections, Tipra Motha Party (TMP) founder and Royal Scion Bubagra Pradyot Bikram Manikya Debbarma today asserted that his party is far ahead in the electoral race.
The remarks were made during a mass gathering-cum-rignai and yarn distribution programme organised from the MDC CDF fund of MDC Ganesh Debbarma at Ratanpur.
Addressing the gathering, Debbarma said that while some BJP leaders are speaking about capturing the TTAADC, the people of the region are well aware of who has consistently stood by them. Drawing a direct comparison, he asked supporters to choose between your Bubagra and Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha in the upcoming polls.
Highlighting his outreach efforts, the TMP chief said he has travelled across Tripura over the past five years visiting places such as Ambassa, Sabroom, Khowai, Khumulwng, Kumarghat and Kanchanpur attending festivals including Tring, Christmas, Hojagiri and Goria, and standing with families during times of hardship.
In an apparent dig at political opponents, he alleged that some leaders who joined the BJP shortly before elections are now expressing affection for Tiprasas only for votes. “After elections, they will disappear. Tiprasa people now understand everything” he said.
Debbarma also accused certain leaders of attempting to bring TTAADC areas under Nagar Panchayat limits in places like Bishramganj and Kanchanpur. He maintained that unity among Tiprasas is key, stressing the need for community Thansa before political Thansa.
Asserting that the party would avoid divisive politics, he said TMP’s focus remains on securing land rights, educational rights and long-term welfare of the community. He also predicted a record victory for Motha in the 17-Pekuarjala-Janmejoynagar constituency and urged supporters to remain united and calm.
