Agartala, July 17, 2025: The Tribal Welfare Department, Government of Tripura, has issued an official notification inviting online applications from eligible Scheduled Tribe (ST) students of the state for the Pre-Matric (Class IX & X) and Post-Matric Scholarships for the academic year 2025-26.
Applications must be submitted through the National Scholarship Portal (NSP) within the stipulated timeline. The scheme is part of the Umbrella Scheme for Education of ST Children, sponsored by the Central Government.
📅 Important Dates
- Application Submission: June 15, 2025 – September 30, 2025
- Institute Level Verification: Up to October 10, 2025
- District Level Verification: Up to November 15, 2025
- State Level Approval: Up to November 30, 2025
📝 Who Can Apply?
Eligible ST students who are permanent residents of Tripura and enrolled in recognized institutions either within or outside the state can apply.
Categories:
- Fresh: For first-time applicants or those who didn’t apply in 2024–25
- Renewal: For those who received scholarships in 2024–25 or whose applications were approved but are yet to receive payments
📄 Required Documents
For Fresh Applicants:
- Passport-size photograph
- ST Certificate
- Family Income Certificate (issued by SDMs/DCMs/DWOs/SDWOs/DCs)
- Marksheet of the last academic qualification
- Bonafide Certificate from the institution
- Hosteller Certificate (if applicable)
For Renewal Applicants:
- Marksheet of the last exam
- Bonafide Certificate
- Hosteller Certificate (if applicable)
📌 Submission Guidelines
After online submission, students must submit the printed copy of the application and documents to their institution. Students studying outside Tripura must submit the same to the District Welfare Officer of their district.
