Agartala, September 30, 2026: Nine individuals from different districts of Tripura have been honoured as ‘Rah Bir’ (Good Samaritans) for helping road accident victims and ensuring their timely transportation to hospitals.
The awards were presented at a programme organised by the Transport Department at Conference Hall No. 1 of the Civil Secretariat. Each awardee received ₹25,000 along with a certificate in recognition of their humanitarian efforts.
The awardees include Kajal Debnath and Prasenjit Bhowmik (jointly), Ashesh Das, Khurshid Mia and Ajit Das from Gomati district; Satyajit Kumar Shil and Satyaranjan Debnath from Dhalai district; and Latika Sinha from Unakoti district.
Transport Minister Sushanta Chowdhury highlighted the importance of helping injured accident victims without hesitation and ensuring that they reach hospitals as quickly as possible.
The ‘Rah Bir’ initiative seeks to encourage citizens to come forward during road emergencies and assist accident victims in saving lives.
