Agartala, June 8: Former militants of the outlawed insurgent groups, the National Liberation Front of Tripura (NLFT) and the All Tripura Tiger Force (ATTF), have announced a 72-hour statewide strike beginning June 12, alleging that several commitments made under rehabilitation and peace agreements remain unfulfilled.

According to reports, representatives of surrendered cadres said they have repeatedly approached both the state and central governments regarding pending issues, including rehabilitation benefits, livelihood support, housing assistance, and other welfare measures promised after laying down arms. They claimed that despite several years passing since their surrender, many former members continue to face financial hardship and uncertainty.

The proposed strike is expected to continue for three days, from June 12 to June 14, unless authorities initiate discussions and provide assurances regarding the implementation of the pending provisions.
