TIPRA Motha MDCs Meet Governor; Oath Ceremony Tomorrow at Khumulwng
Agartala, May 5: A delegation of newly elected Members of District Council (MDCs) from the TIPRA Motha Party, led by Chief Executive Member (CEM)-elect Runiel Debbarma, met Indrasena Reddy Nallu at Lok Bhavan on Tuesday.
The delegation included Chairman Bhabha Ranjan Reang and Executive Member C.K. Jamatia, along with MLA Ranjit Debbarma.
Speaking to the media after the meeting, Runiel Debbarma said that the MDCs informed the Governor about the unanimous election of the CEM, Chairman, and one Executive Member during a meeting held earlier at the Council Bhawan.
He added that the Governor was invited to attend the oath-taking ceremony scheduled for May 6 at Kokchap Nok (Council Bhawan), Khumulwng.
However, the Governor informed the delegation that he has deputed Law Secretary Sankari Das to oversee the process. He also assured that he would visit the TTAADC headquarters later, where he plans to spend the day interacting with elected members and officials.
Debbarma further said the Governor assured support in addressing key issues, including drinking water scarcity and road infrastructure. He also expressed willingness to visit affected areas in Dhalai, North Tripura, and South Tripura districts along with Council members.
Calling it “an overall good meeting,” Debbarma said discussions were constructive and focused on development concerns in ADC areas.
